Digital Media Specialist - Full TIme

Position Summary

The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for creating visually compelling graphics and supporting the Conference’s digital communications. This role ensures all digital platforms including the website, email campaigns, and digital graphics - reflect a consistent, professional, and engaging presence.

The ideal candidate is proactive, creative, and collaborative, helping ministry leaders communicate the mission, ministries, and impact of the Susquehanna Conference. This role complements the Creative Multimedia Specialist, who focuses on photography, videography, and social media storytelling. The Digital Media Specialist focuses on design-first outputs while providing key support for digital communications.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design

● Design digital and print materials, including event graphics, social media visuals, flyers, brochures, presentations, and conference branding materials

● Maintain visual consistency across all platforms in alignment with brand guidelines

● Prepare files for both digital and print production, ensuring accuracy, high-quality output, and proper formatting

● Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to develop visuals for campaigns, initiatives, and events

● Maintain and organize a digital asset library for easy retrieval and consistent branding

● Contribute to the creation of templates, icons, and other reusable design elements to streamline communications production

Digital Communications Support

● Update and maintain the Conference website with accurate, accessible, and brand aligned content

● Assist in editing and distributing weekly eNews (QuikLINK) and other email

campaigns in coordination with the Communications Director

● Ensure email content follows accessibility standards, is mobile-friendly, and maintains consistent branding

● Help maintain accurate email distribution lists and support targeted messaging

● Support the Multimedia Specialist with graphics for social media posts

● Monitor website functionality and coordinate with tech support for troubleshooting

● Stay informed of digital trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve communications

Collaboration & Initiative

● Take initiative in designing and producing visuals that advance the Conference mission

● Partner with ministry leaders and communications staff to identity and implement design solutions

● Work independently to manage multiple projects, while providing updates and collaborating as needed

● Ensure all work reflects Christ-centered, mission-driven approach.

● Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

● Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, digital media, or equivalent experience

● Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc)

● Experience with website content management systems (WordPress preferred)

● Experience designing and sending email campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact

● Strong typography, layout, and visual communication skills

● Ability and experience crafting digital communications that connect meaningfully with diverse audiences

● Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging designs

● Proven ability to take initiative and produce work independently while collaborating effectively

Preferred:

● Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for minor site adjustments

● Familiarity with accessibility standards for web and email

● Familiarity with United Methodist Church culture and mission

Understanding of nonprofit or faith-based communications

● Experience in maintaining brand consistency across digital and print materials

Work Environment

● Hybrid work possible; primarily office-based with some remote project execution

● Minimal physical demands, with occasional transportation of print materials or travel

to Conference events

● May require occasional work evenings or weekends for events or due dates

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
