JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Digital Print Supervisor to lead the launch and operation of a direct-to-object digital printing press. This individual will initially operate the equipment hands-on and will evolve into the owner and leader of this production platform, including training and supervising additional operators as the department grows.
This role requires a design background combined with mechanical aptitude, technical curiosity, and leadership potential. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, takes full ownership of their equipment, and is eager to grow into a supervisory role.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Digital Print Supervisor will exercise supervisory responsibility over the design specialists of the press.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Press Operation & Production
- Operate and optimize a direct-to-object digital press
- Prepare and manipulate print-ready files for production
- Manage color accuracy, print quality, and output consistency
- Troubleshoot printing, mechanical, and file workflow issues
- Ensure daily production targets and quality standards are met
File & Design Management
- Manipulate artwork files for optimal print performance
- Collaborate with digital scheduler and manage file workflows
- Collaborate with design and prepress teams to ensure print feasibility
- Adjust layouts and designs based on substrate and machine requirements
Equipment Ownership & Maintenance
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with manufacturer technical support when necessary
- Maintain documentation and operational best practices
Leadership & Growth
- Assist in building and training a second shift team
- Develop SOPs and workflow documentation
- Serve as subject matter expert for the digital printing platform
- Support operational scaling as production volume increases
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, servo motors, and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in CAD software and 3D printing technologies is a plus
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and equipment reliability.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Print Production, or related field
- 3+ years experience in digital print production or industrial printing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience preparing files for production print environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work on-site in North Amityville, NY
- M-F 6:00am-2:30pm
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed to support the second shift
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
