Who We Are

As science and technology increasingly shape our lives, the Museum of Science strives to equip and inspire everyone to use science for the global good while keeping up with the pace of change. Among the world's largest science centers and New England's most attended cultural institution, we engage nearly five million people a year – at Science Park and in museums around the world, in classrooms, and online.

The Museum's singular location connecting Boston and Cambridge puts us at the junction of some of the world's most influential academic institutions and industries, local and state government, schools, and the public. Trusted by each sector, we are ideally positioned to convene, inspire, and create meaningful experiences for all. Come join us on our mission to inspire a lifelong love of science in everyone and living our vision for a world where science belongs to each of us for the good of all of us.

Why We Need You

The Digital Producer/Editor is responsible for creating and editing high-quality digital and video content that supports the Museum's digital-first marketing strategy. This role combines strong writing, visual storytelling, and multimedia production to create content that engages audiences across web, social, and print platforms.

The Digital Producer/Editor applies creative judgment and data-driven insight to craft stories that connect people to science and the Museum's mission. From social posts and email campaigns to graphics, video, and interactive content, this role ensures every piece of content not only tells a great story but also performs—driving engagement, reach, and measurable impact.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Write and edit content for digital channels and digital/social marketing campaigns that reflect the Museum's brand and tone.
  • Design and optimize visuals, thumbnails, and social assets using Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.
  • Support social media storytelling through short-form video, graphics, and interactive content creation.
  • Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to align content with institutional priorities and audience insights.
  • Use analytics and engagement data to refine messaging and improve content performance.
  • Experiment with emerging media-video, 3D graphics, and gaming-inspired formats-to reach new audiences.
  • This is a hybrid position with a Monday through Friday schedule.

What We're Looking For (Competencies)

  • Proven experience in writing, editing, and producing content across digital marketing platforms and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools for design and light multimedia editing.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social platforms, with a track record of creating high-performing content.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret engagement metrics to inform creative decisions.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills with a bias for action.
  • Creative thinker with a growth mindset and passion for making science engaging and accessible.
