Job Summary:
This position collaborates with other IT staff and all business areas building capability to apply data expertise. The goal will be to help the organization to understand and manage its business by creating and analyzing data and metrics across the functions that drive results. This position is also responsible for creating and supporting the management reporting needs of the organization, with significant focus on support of the Finance and Actuarial Departments.
Responsibilities:
- Work across the organization to design and implement solutions that affect change in how the business is understood and managed through data management.
- Support the corporate level management and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist the organization in identifying business requirements through joint collaboration or workshops as necessary.
- Support the modernization of legacy systems throughout the organization.
- Assist in the design and implementation of services and tools required to advance our digital innovation strategies (for example: enterprise databases, data warehouse, SaaS, APIs, chat services, etc.).
- Assist with the overall architecture and design of outward facing systems. Includes gaining an understanding of various current and legacy systems for integrations as required.
- Work with application development teams, database administrators, systems and network infrastructure teams, and operations teams to facilitate delivery of new systems, features, and improvements.
Critical Qualifications:
Experience, Education, Licenses/Certifications
- 4 to 8 years of experience working with life insurance and annuities
- 4 to 8 years of experience in applicable software technologies
- 4 to 8 years of experience in database application software
- Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information
Knowledge, Technology, Skills, Abilities
- Expertise with data, data tools such as SAS, Python or DDXM, and reporting
- Systems and database concepts - Intermediate level proficiency with coding SQL statements and SQL data concepts
- Ability to analyze complex systems and recommend solutions
- Able to influence without authority

- Expert user of Microsoft Excel and Access
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Independent and proactive worker with ability to see the big picture and take concepts through to action and completion per guidelines, procedures, and best practices

- Technologies: SQL, SQL Server 2016+, SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, Windows, web application architectures
- Strong data management skills
- Previous leadership experience
Pay: $125,000.00 - $152,000.00 per year
