Position Summary

The Dining Room Staff member supports daily meal service by providing courteous table service to residents, assisting with basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness in the dining area, and supporting kitchen operations as needed. This role contributes to a positive dining experience by ensuring meals are served safely, accurately, and with a high level of hospitality.


Essential Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, utensils, and pots; operate dishwashing equipment safely and correctly.
  • Use cleaning chemicals and materials according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Distribute, store, and organize clean dishes, utensils, and kitchenware.
  • Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces, and kitchen/dining areas following schedules and infection‑control standards.
  • Take and deliver food and beverage orders promptly and accurately.
  • Provide friendly, attentive service to ensure resident satisfaction.
  • Maintain quality standards for food service, presentation, and timeliness.
  • Deliver meals to residents who are unable to dine in the dining room.
  • Keep assigned workstations clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and comply with department dress code requirements.
  • Follow all safety regulations; report injuries, hazards, or unsafe practices to the supervisor.
  • Assist with basic kitchen preparation and serving tasks as needed.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with residents, families, visitors, and team members to promote a welcoming, homelike environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support resident needs and departmental operations.
  • Management reserves the right to modify job duties or assign additional responsibilities at any time.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.


Physical Demands

This is an active position requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions. The employee must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Physical requirements may vary based on daily operational needs.

The employee must be able to perform job duties without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others.
