Summary

Servers are expected to provide efficient, clean, and resident driven service. Servers must have a clear understanding of the community’s menus and be able to describe and explain ingredients to residents and their guests. They are committed to keeping dining room clean and providing the highest level of service throughout every shift with a positive attitude. Servers must always be moving with a sense of urgency and anticipate the needs of residents, guests and staff.

Essential Job Functions: *Including but not limited to*

  • Servers must be capable of greeting residents by name and address them as such.
  • Have strong menu knowledge and understand menu items and be able to communicate that information to resident and communicate orders to the kitchen.
  • Maintain dining area to Canterfield standard.
  • Stock and maintain servers area in kitchen.
  • polishing silver, polishing glassware, organizing storage areas, setting up and tearing down for events and daily a la carte service.
  • Dishwashing
  • Specific opening and closing duties will be assigned daily.
  • Abide by all policies, procedures and standards as laid out in Canterfield Employee Handbook. It is the responsibility of each employee to carry themselves with respect to other employees, members and to themselves.
  • Servers should arrive to work well-groomed and with a positive attitude. In other words, carry themselves as true professionals.
  • Adhere to company safety and sanitation policies and promote cleanliness in the workplace.

Performs other appropriate assignments and projects as required by the Culinary Director, or the Executive Director.

Additional Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

  • Be detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and remain professional.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends relative to the food & beverage operation.
  • Absorb suggestions and criticism and communicates them to the Culinary Director

Physical Demands: This position routinely requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding/lifting, twisting, reaching and climbing stairs. The employee will have the ability to lift and/or move at least fifty pounds on a consistent basis. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
