Dining Services Assistant Mentor

Dining Services Assistant Mentor at Landis Homes

  • Full-Time
  • Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM - 80 hours bi-weekly
  • Every other weekend
  • Every other holiday

Creates an enjoyable and safe dining experience for residents, team members and guests by providing assistance in a variety of Dining functions including, but not limited to, general food preparation, meal delivery/service, clean-up and sanitation in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, within established dining policies and procedures. In addition, provides training and mentoring to other Dining team members.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Mentors and trains other dining team members in duties. Takes active participation in orienting and providing feedback to new team members. Answers questions for other dining team members as able.
  • Flexible with assignments to various Households or Dining areas. Models correct procedures and processes for every area as needed.
  • Assists in monitoring all standards, logs and cleaning is completed.
  • Demonstrates a positive demeanor and serves as a reliable role model.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities, facilitates communication, shows initiative, strong organizational skills and able to perform duties without close supervision.
  • Performs various food preparation, production, and portioning tasks.
  • Operates POS system and conducts retail transactions.
  • Produces made-to-order breakfast items in the Households.
  • Efficiently and safely operates various food preparation, cleaning, and delivery equipment as assigned.
  • Serves food and beverages according to Dining Server Training standards. Follows established style and order of service while serving in the dining rooms and at special functions.
  • Delivers accurate, resident ordered/diet specific meals or room trays.
  • Demonstrates safe food handling techniques.
  • Promotes sanitary and safe environment.
  • Cooperates with team members of other departments in performing job duties.
  • Relates well with residents, clients, family members, staff and the community.
  • Adheres to dress code required for role.
  • Demonstrates dependability, competence, accuracy and is observant.
  • Adheres to compliance policies regarding confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident and client rights.
  • Complies with regulatory agency standards and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Complies with safety and infection control protocols in all aspects of the job.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Code of Conduct and abides by its guidelines in all aspects of the job.
  • Attends in-services and team meetings as required for role. Leads team meetings at times.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum two years' experience in related role required.
  • Certified in Serv-Safe or obtains certification within six months of hire.
  • Capable of working in various different Dining Services job roles/assignments.
  • Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills required.
