Meals That Connect brings nutritious meals and meaningful connection to seniors throughout San Luis Obispo County. With 8 dining sites serving both dine-in and home-delivered meals, we are committed to fostering community, dignity, and compassion.

We are looking for a Dining Site Host (Site Supervisor) who will lead one of our dining sites and help create a welcoming, organized, and uplifting environment for our seniors and volunteers.

What You’ll Do

As the Dining Site Host, you are the heart of the site. You’ll ensure smooth daily operations while building positive relationships with seniors, volunteers, and staff.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Set a positive, welcoming tone for seniors and volunteers
  • Supervise and support staff and volunteers
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required

Site Operations

  • Oversee meal service, food receiving/storage, setup, and cleanup
  • Ensure dishwashing and sanitation standards are maintained
  • Plan and forecast meal quantities
  • Maintain accurate timecards and ensure staff breaks are taken
  • Collaborate with kitchen and administrative teams

Compliance & Reporting

  • Follow Senior Nutrition Program and Area Agency on Aging guidelines
  • Maintain accurate client records and required documentation
  • Enter daily data into computer systems and submit timely reports

Community Support

  • Provide seniors with information and referrals to available resources
  • Foster a warm, inclusive environment for clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Food service or hospitality experience
  • Experience coordinating volunteers
  • Comfortable with technology and data entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Self-motivated and collaborative team player

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, proof of insurance
  • Reliable transportation (occasional meal delivery may be required)
  • Must pass background check
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • English proficiency (additional languages are a plus)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Lift, carry, and load up to 20 pounds
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and move throughout the day
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Frequent data entry with possible interruptions

  • $19–$22 per hour, depending on experience
