Direct Care Staff

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor and record vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents’ health stability
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols, maintaining detailed documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia by implementing personalized care plans and behavior management strategies
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
  • Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster emotional well-being and community involvement

Requirements

  • Prior experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living, or personal care homes is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory support techniques
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities
  • Experience with EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes
  • Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required for community outings or appointments
  • Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to caregiving

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
