Direct Care Worker

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role requires a blend of caregiving skills, empathy, and the ability to manage various situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support clients with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met.
• Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
• Assist clients with mobility and physical activities.
• Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
• Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including those with dementia or disabilities.
• Uphold resident rights and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage conflicts effectively while providing emotional support to clients and their families.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Experience

• Previous experience in caregiving or direct care roles is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with hospice care practices is a plus.
• Knowledge of resident rights and ethical considerations in caregiving.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is beneficial.
• Skills in conflict management and social work principles are advantageous.
• Understanding of basic health monitoring techniques, including vital signs assessment.
