FIRM DATES: July 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15.
OTHER DATES: At least 1 day per week for training and fill in coverage starting June 10th
The Direct Care Worker will provide person-centered direct-contact care to six residents with varying levels of physical and/or developmental disabilities in an AFC home setting.
MAIN DUTIES
- Provide personal care, including bathing, toileting, incontinence care, grooming, and dressing to male and female residents.
- Providing mobility assistance, such as helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, toilet or a wheelchair.
- Administer prescribed medications, including diabetic monitoring and injections.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living they are unable to perform without help, fostering their independence and freedom of choice.
- Responsible for actively maintaining a clean and hygienic environment, ensuring a pleasant and safe space for everyone.
SKILLS
- Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and patient-centered care.
- Must be dependable and motivated and have reliable transportation.
- May be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations.
