Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety procedures
- Provide compassionate Alzheimer's and dementia care, employing memory care techniques to promote comfort and safety
- Help with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are followed
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control standards
- Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document care activities accurately and promptly
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to support resident mobility
- Engage residents in social activities and behavioral management strategies to promote mental well-being
- Support residents' participation in community outings or transportation needs using driving skills when applicable
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of long-term care practices including resident’s <PERSON> (personal history) documentation is preferred
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and assist with medication administration following safety protocols
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with team members, residents, and families
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties if required for community outings or appointments
