Direct Care Worker - New Castle County (Dayshift)

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Care Worker to provide non-medical, non-skilled support services to individuals in their homes or community settings. The Direct Care Worker assists clients with daily living activities to promote independence, dignity, and overall well-being. This position focuses on personal support, companionship, and household assistance and does not include medical or skilled nursing services.

Requirements

• Previous caregiving or direct care experience preferred but not required
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to assist clients as needed
• Must pass background check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if transportation is required for the role)
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends or evenings if needed

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Accompany clients to appointments or community activities (if required)
• Perform light errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions
• Monitor and report any changes in client condition or behavior to supervisor
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment
• Follow care plans and company policies at all times

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
