Schedule: Provider is able to be flexible and may commit to some or all of the scheduled days/times, depending on availability. Flexible!

• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 3:00pm to 7:00pm; 3:30pm to 7:30pm

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Respite Provider to support a family and teenager in the Ashville, Ohio area. This teenager loves to fish and explore community spaces, and we are looking for someone to provide transportation and go fishing in the afternoons and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

• Transportation
• Feel comfortable transporting in the community setting if family requests.
• Maintain safe and reliable transportation practices.
• Community Engagement
• Facilitate safe and enjoyable outings (parks, stores, recreational activities, etc.).
• Encourage social participation and independence.
• Daily Living Assistance
• Provide supervision and support with age-appropriate tasks and routines.
• Follow family guidelines and any behavioral or safety plans.
• Documentation
• Provide brief service notes summarizing activities and support provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or teens (preferred experience with neurodivergent individuals).
• Be able to build rapport with a teenager and model calm coping skills
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to pass background checks required for respite providers.
• Dependable, patient, and comfortable supporting clients in the community.

Ideal Candidate

• Enjoys working with teens and supporting independence.

• Flexible and open to occasional weekend community outings.
• Strong communication with families and agency staff.
• Comfortable supporting children and teens with developmental disabilities who may experience periods of emotional dysregulation, including defiance, frustration, or mild to moderate behavioral challenges.

Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Respite Direct Provider offers short-term, supportive care that gives parents and caregivers a much-needed break while ensuring children receive safe, structured, and nurturing support. This is a part-time position and full-time position open to the right candidate!

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe respite care to children and teens enrolled in OhioRISE.
• Support daily routines, basic needs, and prosocial engagement during respite periods.
• Implement calming strategies, coping skills, or simple structured activities when appropriate.
• Promote a supportive, predictable environment using trauma-informed and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with caregivers and the supervising team.
• Complete documentation and incident reports as required by OhioRISE and Collective Behavioral Therapy policy.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, ethical, and confidentiality standards.
• Collaborate with BCBA supervisors or behavioral health leadership when behavioral concerns arise.
• Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, medication logs, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect residents’ privacy.
• Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to foster community involvement and emotional well-being.
• Follow safety procedures including CPR and First Aid protocols; respond promptly to emergencies or changes in residents’ condition.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass background checks (BCI/FBI) and all OhioRISE training requirements
• Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed based on family schedules
• Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
• Reliable car and insurance
• Experience working with children who are neurodivergent, may have a history of trauma, and may present with behavioral, communication, or mental health challenges

Preferred:

• Experience working with children/youth (e.g., daycare, ABA, behavioral health, schools, childcare)
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care or behavioral support strategies
• Interest in pursuing additional training or advancement within the company

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
