Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will provide essential support and care in group homes. Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Assist clients with daily activities to promote independence and well-being.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that enhance social interaction and cognitive skills.
- Monitor and document client progress while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Support individuals with dementia care by employing specialized techniques to ensure comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

***Must be able to lift/assist with 30-50 lbs.

Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Experience in home care or assisted living environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is beneficial.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and documentation practices.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary requirements.
- Understanding of dementia care strategies is a plus.
