<Job Overview>
We are seeking a motivated and caring Direct Support Professional to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life. Your energy and dedication will make a meaningful difference every day as you assist with daily activities, monitor health and safety, and foster a positive environment.

<Duties>

  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations
  • Support residents during meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs while maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Observe patient behavior closely, noting changes in condition or mood, especially for those with dementia, Alzheimer's, autism or other developmental disabilities
  • Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to ensure resident comfort and safety during transfers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, medication logs, and incident reports following HIPAA standards
  • Engage residents in social activities, community outings, or recreational programs to promote socialization and well-being

<Skills>

  • Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home & community care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or memory care practices
  • Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Hoyer lift training are highly valued
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility needs
  • Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong understanding of care plans, medication administration protocols, and HIPAA compliance
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and family members
