Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams
- Administer medications and follow care plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Support residents during recreational activities, social outings, and community involvement to promote engagement and independence
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in living areas and common spaces
- Document care activities accurately in resident records while respecting confidentiality and privacy standards
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus
- Experience with patient monitoring tools, Hoyer lifts, or other mobility aids is beneficial
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with seniors or individuals requiring long-term care support
- Familiarity with care planning processes, medication management, and safety protocols for vulnerable populations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist residents safely
