Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life. Your dedication will empower clients through assistance with daily activities, health monitoring, and engaging in meaningful community experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Monitor and observe clients’ health status, including vital signs, patient observation, and medication administration following care plans
  • Support clients during meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning to promote healthy eating habits
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, medication records, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Engage clients in social activities and community outings to foster social skills and independence
  • Perform light cleaning duties within client living spaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism, including CPR or first aid when required

Skills

  • Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments
  • Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and senior care best practices
  • Strong patient observation skills coupled with the ability to monitor vital signs and recognize health changes
  • Ability to operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of client information
  • Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility needs

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
