Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to an adult with intellectual disabilities in the home and in the community. Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) such as showering, dressing, toileting and grooming
• Support the individual in social activities and community outings
• Drive the individual to appointments, events and activities
• Engage in heavy lifting as needed
• Assist with communication including visual-gestural, sign language and use of assistive technology
• Provide supportive supervision to ensure safety and wellness

Requirements:

• Experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism
• Willingness to learn how to support an individual with a hearing impairment
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper techniques - physical stamina is essential for supporting the individual's mobility needs
• Strong communication skills
• Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care that promotes dignity and independence
• Covid-19 vaccination required
• Valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle and a willingness to transport the individual into the community - MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT PROVIDED
• Must be available Saturdays and Sundays
• Non-smoking household
• A BACKGROUND CHECK WILL BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT

Job Type :

• Part time - fixed hours
• Saturdays and Sundays 10:00am - 10:00pm
• Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour
