We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Your work will involve assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting their well-being, and fostering a supportive environment that respects their rights and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Support individuals in daily living activities, including meal preparation and cooking.
• Facilitate social interactions and community engagement for clients.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
• Provide assistance to individuals with dementia or autism, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Advocate for resident rights and promote independence among clients.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized care plans.

Experience

• Previous experience in home community care or social work is preferred.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in assisted living settings is highly valued.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices and resident rights is advantageous.
• A background in nursing homes or similar environments is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential.

Hours needed:

Monday - Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Weekends: ***40 Hours***

Saturday 6:00am - 10:00pm, 10:00pm - 6:00am

Sunday 6:00am - 10:00pm

Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
