Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The DSP plays a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and overall well-being while ensuring the safety and health of individuals served.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals in accordance with individualized support plans
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding
- Administer medications in accordance with state guidelines (must be Med Certified)
- Monitor and document individual progress, behaviors, and health-related issues
- Support individuals in developing life skills, social skills, and community integration
- Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation (daily notes, incident reports, medication logs)
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and family members
- Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered care at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working in a healthcare, home care, or direct support setting
- Medication Certification (Med Certified) – preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification – preferred
- High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or higher preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for position)
- Ability to pass background check
