Job Summary
Pursue Youth & Family Therapeutic Group Home is seeking compassionate, dependable, and experienced Direct Support Professionals to support young ladies ages 12–17 in a residential group home setting.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with youth, particularly adolescent girls, and will understand the importance of providing structure, emotional support, accountability, and encouragement in a therapeutic environment. We are looking for candidates who truly have a passion for helping young ladies grow, heal, and improve their lives.
This role requires patience, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and supportive during challenging situations.
Responsibilities
Direct Support Professionals are responsible for helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive living environment for residents. Duties include:
- Provide direct supervision and support to residents ages 12–17
- Assist residents with daily routines, activities, hygiene, meals, and household responsibilities
- Build positive, respectful, and professional relationships with residents
- Promote healthy decision-making, coping skills, and appropriate social behaviors
- Follow individualized service plans, behavioral plans, and agency policies
- Monitor resident behavior and report concerns to supervisors
- De-escalate conflicts or crisis situations using appropriate techniques
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, behaviors, activities, and shift notes
- Support residents during recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities
- Ensure the home remains clean, safe, and organized
- Transport or accompany residents as needed, if applicable
- Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, families, and outside providers
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all safety, licensing, and compliance standards
Required Experience and Skills
Qualified candidates should have experience and skills that include:
- Experience working with youth ages 12–17, preferably adolescent girls
- Prior experience in a residential group home, behavioral health, mental health, foster care, or similar setting
- Ability to work with youth who may have trauma histories, behavioral challenges, or emotional needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to document clearly, accurately, and professionally
- Crisis prevention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills
- Patience, compassion, and emotional maturity
- Ability to set boundaries while remaining supportive and respectful
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from supervisors
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Understanding of trauma-informed care is preferred
- Willingness to work weekends and flexible shifts as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous DSP, residential counselor, behavioral aide, mental health technician, youth care worker, or group home experience preferred
- Must be able to pass required background checks
- Must be reliable and able to report to scheduled shifts on time
- Valid driver’s license required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Medication administration training preferred, or willingness to obtain if required
Schedule
Current available shifts include:
- 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Schedule and shift availability are subject to change based on business needs. Weekend availability is required.

Work Environment
This position is located in a residential therapeutic group home setting. Staff must be able to actively supervise residents, respond to behavioral situations, complete documentation, and help maintain a safe and supportive home environment.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
