Job Title: Direct Support Professional Shuttle Bus Driver

As a Direct Support Professional Shuttle Bus Driver (this is a non-CDL position), you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to safely transport clients to and from various locations while providing compassionate support and assistance throughout their journey. You will be the friendly face that ensures a positive experience for our clients, making a meaningful impact in their daily lives.

What you’ll do

• Safely operate a bus or van to transport clients to appointments, activities, and community outings.
• Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living activities (ADLs) as needed.
• Monitor and document client health and behavior, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation.
• Assist clients with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, including heavy lifting when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle, ensuring it is ready for each trip.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and execute engaging community activities that promote social interaction.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of client information at all times.

Basic qualifications

• Valid Class E driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a caregiving role, is optimal but not necessary.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment.
• Experience using bus lifts or similar equipment for client mobility assistance.
