Option A: Full-Time Swing Shift Lead
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $20 / hour
Option B: Part-Time NOC (Overnight) Specialist
Schedule: Friday Night & Saturday Night
Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (16 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $20 / hour
Option C: Part-Time Day Specialist
Schedule: Saturday Day & Sunday Day
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM (16 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $20 / hour
Option D: Part-Time Swing Specialist
Schedule: Saturday Swing & Sunday Swing
Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (16 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $20 / hour
Key Responsibilities & DSP Duties
Under the direction of the facility administrator, our Direct Care Staff implement person-centered care and training protocols.
- Provide personalized care and training to residents based on their individual Program Plan and Individual Program Plan (IPP).
- Adhere to facility policies and regulations to ensure the well-being and safety of residents.
- Organize and supervise recreational activities both within the facility and in the community.
- Treat each resident with dignity and respect, recognizing their unique needs and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the facility to create a comfortable living environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to planned menus.
- Supervise residents during meal times to ensure proper nutrition and dietary requirements are met.
- Foster a home-like atmosphere within the facility to promote a sense of belonging for all residents.
- Uphold residents' rights and ensure their autonomy and independence are respected.
- Assist residents with the self-administration of prescribed medications as needed.
- Recognize early signs of illness and seek professional assistance when necessary.
- Utilize community services and resources to enhance residents' quality of life and support their individual needs.
- Schedule and accompany residents to medical appointments, including doctor, dentist, and eye doctor visits.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records as required by the regional center.
- Organize and facilitate special events and outings for residents, such as birthdays, dances, and community outings.
- Attend resident conferences as required to discuss their progress and any necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Monitor residents' conditions and behaviors, documenting significant issues and notifying the administrator or doctor as needed. Provide thorough handover reports to oncoming shifts as appropriate.
- Asst the administrator in implementing emergency protocols and utilizing available resources during crisis situations.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (1 year of caregiving experience is required).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Good physical and mental health, verified through a health screening/physical examination, including a tuberculosis (TB) test, conducted by or under the supervision of a physician within one year prior to employment.
- No prior convictions of crimes other than minor traffic violations. Must sign a declaration confirming this fact under penalty of perjury and undergo a criminal background check.
- Must obtain fingerprint clearance before beginning direct care duties.
- Must possess or obtain first aid and CPR certification immediately after employment.
- Must achieve Direct Support Professional I Certification within the first year of hire and Direct Support Professional II Certification within the second year of hire.
