Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Available shifts:

Saturday and Sunday 9 am - 5 pm; 5 pm - 9 am

Duties:

- Provide direct care and support to a male client with intellectual and developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging or aggressive behaviors
- Support individual in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships
- Ensure the rights and dignity of individuals are respected and upheld

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in a related field is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges

-Ability to confidently deescalate aggression both verbally and physically, ability to push, pull or lift over 100lbs comfortably
- Must have knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and be comfortable with applying behavior support and crisis management (managing aggression/self-injury, elopement)
- Ability to drive and possess a valid driver's license
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour
