Direct Support Professional (DSP)

POSITION SUMMARY

Telecare Services is looking for a Full time FEMALE Direct Support Professional (DSP). The DSP will be responsible for providing support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure these individuals have opportunities to actively participate in all aspects of community life.

Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm
• 44 hours weekly

Responsibilities:

• Monitor individuals to ensure their overall safety.
• Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking, etc.).
• Implement Individual Plans, Outcomes, Goals, and Strategies.
• Complete paperwork as assigned, including routine drills such as Fire Drills.
• Plan, assist, and participate in community outings with individuals (e.g., visiting family, friends, church/temple, shopping, etc.).
• Maintain a living environment in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and health department standards.
• Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, when applicable.
• Accompany individuals on medical emergencies as needed.
• Communicate with and update the Program Manager, and or Delegating Nurse on a regular basis.
• Complete all agency-required training for the position.
• Maintain responsibility for assigned tasks, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Related Experience preferred.
• Must be able to work Independently.
• Ability to properly document activities.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITION:

• Must assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, and cooking).
• May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals.
• Must be available in emergency situations as the need arises.
• A Maryland driver's license is required, and an approved clean driving record is necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
