Job Summary
Endless Abilities, Inc. has in place Direct Support Professional (DSP) as a member of the individual's support team who works under the direct supervision of the Residential Supervisor, QDDP, and RN to ensure Endless Abilities, Inc.'s standards are met regarding the individual's needs and care. The DSP is responsible for the care and observation of individuals, reporting and documenting observations and assistance performed. The DSP will report directly to the Residential Supervisor to meet the needs of the individuals served.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide services for individuals as directed by the Individual's Support Plan (ISP), Behavior Support Plan (BSP), QDDP, and RN
- Assist individuals with personal care:
- Bathing, Grooming, including oral care
- Dressing and undressing
- Toileting activities
- Dining
- Take and record weekly Blood Pressure and Weight
- Take and record Vital Signs (Temperature, Pulse, Respirations), Intake and Output as needed and/or ordered by Physician, RN, and/or QDDP
- Support good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e. turn and reposition individuals, actively encourage movement, assist with incontinent needs in a prompt manner)
- Assist individuals with active and passive Range of Motion.
- Assist client with ambulating, mobility and transferring needs
Qualifications and Skills
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma (GED acceptable) or demonstrate the ability to read and write adequately to complete required documentation and follow verbal and written instruction
- Have successfully completed the IFSSA/DDARS Waiver training module for attendant care or other applicable training from a qualified provider agency or have previous experience as an aide in a home health agency, hospital or long-term care facility or in serving persons with developmental disabilities
- Demonstrate the ability to provide services to individuals with disabilities in accordance with each individuals ISP
- Demonstrate willingness to accept supervision
- Possess the ability to demonstrate basic computer skills necessary to complete required documentation
- Have CPR/First Aid certification
- Be in adequate physical health to perform job tasks required
- Be free from communicable diseases
- Have an interest in and empathy for persons with developmental disabilities
- Possess interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Have successfully completed orientation with provider agency and Direct Care Staff training
- Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull reach, sit, and walk for periods of time.
- Must be able to utilize proper body mechanics while lifting up to 75 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
