Direct Support Professional (DSP) Respite/Cfass Children Services

Metro Children Services is hiring compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one support to children and adolescents in home and community settings. This is a flexible, case-based role where assignments vary based on each child’s needs, including age, location, schedule, and level of support.

In this role, DSPs help children build social, emotional, and behavioral skills while supporting daily routines and engaging in recreational and community activities. Responsibilities include following individualized service plans, encouraging independence, maintaining documentation, and communicating with supervisors and care teams.

DSPs may provide different types of services, including Respite (focused on supervision and caregiver relief) and CFASS (Community and Family Support Services, focused on skill-building and behavioral support).

Pay ranges from $20–$30 per hour depending on qualifications and services provided:

• $20/hr – Respite (High School Diploma or GED required)
• $25/hr – CFASS Level 1 (Bachelor’s degree required, no prior child experience needed)
• $30/hr – CFASS (Bachelor’s degree + relevant experience preferred)
