Direct Support Professional (DSP) URGENT HIRE

Please Note: This position does NOT include overnight hours

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate male Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a high-functioning young male with disabilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful, one-on-one work and helping individuals thrive in their daily lives and community.

Requirements

• Must reside in Virginia
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
• Ability to stoop, bend, stand, and lift as needed
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Preferred: 2+ years experience in In-Home Services or supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Available Schedules

Weekday Options (choose one):

• Monday–Friday | 9 AM to 6 PM

Weekend Option:

• Saturday | 10AM to 5PM

Hours per week:

• Part-Time: 20–29 hours
• Full-Time: 30–40 hours

Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly or twice monthly

Position Overview

The DSP provides direct care and supervision, ensuring the individual’s safety, well-being, and progress toward personal goals outlined in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). You will support daily living skills, promote independence, and facilitate community engagement in a respectful and supportive manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to ensure safety and well-being
• Assist with daily living tasks and personal care as needed
• Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or physical condition
• Document daily activities and progress notes
• Support development of positive habits and appropriate behaviors
• Transport individual to appointments, community activities, and recreational outings
• Provide companionship, encouragement, and supportive listening
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations
