Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations.
  • Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and nutrition needs.
  • Implement and follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
  • Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident-specific devices; heavy lifting may be required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks.
  • Support residents during activities in group homes, assisted living facilities, or community settings.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to medical emergencies by administering CPR or first aid when necessary.
  • Document observations, care provided, and any changes in condition accurately and confidentially.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive care.

Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in caregiving roles such as home health, hospice care, nursing homes, assisted living, or group homes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia (including Alzheimer’s), or memory care is highly valued. Knowledge of medication administration, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and emergency response procedures is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards is required. Experience with specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident-specific assistive devices is preferred. A background in social work or long-term care enhances the ability to provide holistic support tailored to each individual’s needs.
