Direct Support Professional - Part Time Weekends Only

Job Overview: Part Time Weekends Only (7AM-7PM OR 7PM-7AM)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities and physical and mental health challenges. Required Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass a DHS required background check

Duties

  • Implement individualized care plans and behavioral support strategies and assist with behavior management plans, using positive reinforcement and redirection techniques
  • Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
  • Be able to use de-escalatation and early intervention skills to ensure the safely of the client
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
  • Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs, assist with cooking, and maintain cleanliness in common areas and resident rooms
  • Support resident during community outings or activities to promote social engagement and independence
  • Transport residents to appointments, errands, and recreational activities while ensuring safety at all times
  • Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, incident reports, and updates in resident care plans
  • Engage in patient observation to identify potential issues early
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, including following crisis intervention procedures and reporting protocols

Skills

  • Proven experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medication administration protocols, and patient monitoring techniques
  • Strong skills in patient observation and working with individuals with high needs
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with superviors and supporting resident's needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR Certified
  • Familiarity with home health practices including patient care planning, caregiving strategies, and working within care plans

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
