Direct Support Professional-weekends

Job Summary

Duties

• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, patient care needs, and behavioral changes, especially for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions
• Support medication administration and document all patient care activities following HIPAA guidelines
• Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs

Requirements

• Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Certification in CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance is required or obtainable upon hire
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs
• Strong patient observation skills and the ability to monitor vital signs effectively
• Physical stamina for activities such as heavy lifting and assisting with mobility support tools like Hoyer lifts
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate attitude towards residents of all ages and abilities
• Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents’ rights
