This individual is a usually very happy person who is quick to smile and enjoys riding in the van with his family. He likes to be around people he is comfortable with and enjoys interacting with them, possessing a good memory for people he comes in contact with regularly. He appreciates one-on-one attention. This individual prefers a quiet atmosphere and does not like loud or sudden noises or unfamiliar people in his home; it typically takes a few visits for him to become accustomed. He is very close with his family. He enjoys listening to music, watching his favorite shows like Spongebob and Blues Clues, and playing with bright toys that have lights and music.

Wesley is non-verbal but communicates through vocalizations (crying, screaming, "in between noises", facial expressions (grimacing, smiling, laughing), and body disposition. Real tears indicate physical discomfort. He is non-ambulatory and non-weight bearing, requiring a wheelchair for all mobility. He is also incontinent and wears adult diapers

Qualifications:

Experience providing total care for individuals with profound intellectual disabilities and complex needs.

Ability to perform safe lifting and transferring techniques for a non-weight-bearing individual.

Excellent observational skills to monitor Wesley's health and interpret his non-verbal cues

Patient, calm, and adaptable demeanor, especially when Wesley vocalizes displeasure or is adjusting to new people or noises

New staff will receive training on Wesley's specific level of care needs for all daily living activities

Preference for female caregivers may be beneficial, as Wesley seems to have a preference for women.

Work schedule:

• Part time
• Morning and evening shift
• 9 am-12 pm and 6 pm-9 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday
• Up to $25 per hour

Pay: Up to $25.10 per hour
