Position Summary:
The Director of Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and directing end-to-end global category sourcing strategies to meet annual business targets and drive continuous improvement. Accountable for the full lifecycle of global supplier selection and managing critical relationships to ensure high performance, innovation, and risk mitigation. Ownership for corporate results in managing annual spend, achieving cost savings and other key performance indicators (KPIs). Will align sourcing activities with internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Legal) to support broader organizational goals. This role requires a strong leader with a track record of successful growth and development of their teams. Will provide regular feedback and coaching in order to create a high-performing, accountable team.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.
Mentor and guide direct reports.
Oversee the daily workflow of the direct reports.
Specific Responsibilities:- Lead team of sourcing managers and procurement professionals
- Leverage spend across the company with direct accountability for delivery of annual savings targets
- Deliver results relating to efficiency, working capital improvement, supplier payment terms and DPO improvement, supplier performance, vendor managed inventory, and continuity of supply
- Develop, oversee, manage, and communicate detailed commodity strategies to make sure they align with and deliver the current requirements of the business, with the Sourcing team
- Develop and publish key market intelligence including commodity trends, lead times, capacity, industry trends, benchmarks, etc. to business leaders
- Drive long term strategic focus in product planning and innovation, supply partners, and future technology
- Lead cross-functional collaboration (engineering, quality, support, etc.) to create sound, cost effective strategies
- Build strong technical solutions including new technology, productivity, and cost improvements with strategic suppliers
- Oversee the procurement function ensuring objectives are consistently attained
- Ensure strategic alliances with all parts of the business through education and promotion of the Sourcing function
- Own strategic responsibility for supplier contract coverage
- Signatory responsibility for all negotiated contracts
- Drive sourcing process improvement and instill a proactive passion for discovering new sources for critical components for product and production processes
- Develop a consistent negotiations strategy and guide team to secure vendor contracts that are aligned with company goals
- Serve as key representative in “make vs. buy” and vertical integration decisions
- Lead and support the Procurement team to achieve department objectives
Skills & Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or engineering. Master’s Degree highly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing with direct experience with supplier negotiations and driving successful year over year material cost downs
- Demonstrated ability to create a vision and execute; working collaboratively to drive change management
- Proven track record of connecting individual development with business objectives through motivation and empowerment
- Ability to use expertise in supply strategy, risk management, and macroeconomic trends to create a sustainable competitive advantage
- Experience leading multiple projects in a strategic environment, including international sourcing experiences
- Proven success of using unconventional approaches to creatively navigate challenges and drive positive change
- Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills
- Demonstrated business and financial acumen, capability to analyze and interpret basic financial details
- ASPM/CPM, CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management), with Green Belt preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
