Job Description

Director

Ensure programmatic, operational, and fiscal integrity of the Day Program. The Day Program director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the adult day program, ensuring clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive high-quality, individualized support services in a safe and engaging environment, including managing staff, developing program activities, coordinating client care, and maintaining compliance with regulations, all while promoting client independence and community integration within the framework of the agency mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate needs-based adult education curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Ensure operational and fiscal compliance with Georgia DBHDD quality assurance

standards, and compliance.

  • Ensure successful annual surveys and programmatic audits from all regulatory entities.
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission quality assurance and program evaluation reviews, as well as in-person programmatic surveys.
  • Ensure the program maintains and complies with all agency programmatic and DBHDD policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Responsible for implementation of regulatory changes that are mandated by the agency, DBHDD, and other Federal, state, and local regulating entities, as needed.
  • Ensure the program performance system is implemented and maintained for operational, quality, and financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with program operational budget targets.
  • Monitor and manage controllable expenses, such as overtime, telephone, and program supplies.
  • Monitor the physical environment of assigned buildings and vehicles, for safety, maintenance, and sanitation, internally and externally.
  • Ensure monthly disaster drills compliance. (earthquake, fire, shelter in place)
  • Ensure personnel management of the program is compliant with the agency policies and procedures, i.e. timely performance evaluations, new employee orientation, and new employee onboarding are all conducted compliantly and timely.
  • Function as liaison with assigned communities of practice and associated entities such DBHDD, Service monitoring agenices , and other associated and assigned groups/entities.
  • Maintain regular timely communication of all programmatic changes with the agency staff, the day program staff, clients, family members, case managers, and other involved parties.
  • Identify staff development opportunities.
  • Develop and accurately manage annual program budget compliance.
  • Ensure monthly program and transportation billing is completed timely and all revenue sources are properly authorized timely.
  • Facilitate and lead staff weekly meetings.
  • Maintain programmatic integrity of program systems and policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Responsible for client census development goals for the program and the established budget targets.
  • Ensure program operations address all clients, families, case management, and staff crises and conflicts.
  • Ensure the program provides timely client transportation services.
  • Represent the program on internal and external committees assigned by leadership.
  • Maintain current ISP and BSP listings/logs for all clients served.
  • Schedule and facilitate all annual, quarterly, and bi-annually ISPs, BSP, and semi-annual meetings.
  • Ensure all program meetings are content is reflected in meeting reports and minutes.
  • Submit weekly program reports to leadership, as required.
  • Ensure compliance with required health and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with triennial Joint Commission surveys.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of successful middle level to upper management supervisory, programmatic, operations and administrative experience required encompassing progressive management experience working with people with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, at least two of which shall have been supervisory at front line management; and extensive knowledge in the design and supervision of adult day habilitation program (s) serving individuals with I/DD, development of staff. Demonstrate strong management, leadership, planning, and communication skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of all DDD regulations.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Must be able to pass Criminal History Records Check
  • Basic Physical

Education:

  • Doctoral Degree in Behavioral or Social Sciences;

or a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, or Social Work;

or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Human Services, combined with transcript evaluation for qualified course work in Behavioral Sciences as identified by the DBHDD;

AND six (6) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

OR

  • An Educator with a Degree in Education from an accredited program that includes a concentration in Special Education in college coursework;

AND eight (8) years of classroom experience in teaching individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

OR

  • A registered nurse who is authorized by a license to practice nursing as a registered professional nurse, who holds an associate or diploma degree in nursing;

AND has six years experience in treating individuals with I/DD.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an occasional Saturday training

Staring Pay Range: $27 - $30 per hour
