OverviewWe are seeking an energetic and visionary Director to lead Little Monkeys Preschool & Childcare in maintaining our commitment to providing a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. As the leader of our organization, you will champion our mission to foster each child’s natural desire to explore, discover, create, and become a lifelong learner. This pivotal role involves overseeing our six distinct childcare programs (Infants through School Age), ensuring adherence to Wyoming Early Learning Standards, and cultivating a collaborative culture among our professional staff. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated administrator who values the uniqueness of every child and is committed to operational excellence in a high-quality, licensed care environment.Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Educational Leadership: Oversee the implementation of the Creative Curriculum across all program rooms, ensuring that monthly lesson plans align with Wyoming Early Learning Standards and incorporate indoor/outdoor play, sensory exploration, and child-initiated activities.
- Operational Excellence & Licensing: Ensure strict adherence to Wyoming Department of Family Services licensing rules. Maintain safety, health, and staffing ratios at all times, including the oversight of the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan and all emergency procedures.
- Staff Management & Development: Lead and supervise a diverse team of educators, including Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Aides. Manage scheduling, new staff orientation, and ongoing professional development, ensuring all staff complete required STARS training, CPR/First Aid certifications, and annual criminal history checks.
- Financial Oversight & Fundraising: Manage center budgets, oversee supply procurement, and process payroll according to the center’s semi-monthly pay periods. Cultivate relationships with community stakeholders and donors to secure financial support for program growth.
- Parent & Community Engagement: Represent Little Monkeys at community events and lead parent-teacher conference initiatives. Foster open, professional communication with families regarding child development, health incidents, and center policies, ensuring all grievances are handled confidentially and effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in education administration or childcare leadership, with a strong focus on program management and staff supervision.
- Deep knowledge of the Creative Curriculum and Wyoming Early Learning Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team, resolve conflicts professionally, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Strong financial literacy, including experience with budget management and payroll administration.
- Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the mission of fostering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in young children.
- Ability to act as a mandatory child abuse reporter and maintain strict confidentiality regarding all children, families, and staff records.
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
