Primary Responsibilities
-
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and performance management for a team of programmer/analysts and data engineers supporting university applications, business systems and data integration needs

Mentor staff in problem analysis, programming best practices, data protection/compliance, and office procedures

Set priorities and assign and schedule work to ensure projects, upgrades, problems resolutions, and needed integrations are accomplished

Coordinate project work and establish realistic goals and expectations
-
Work with staff as needed to support ERP systems and resolve problems
-
Coordinate with functional offices (Admissions, Finance, HR, Registrar, etc.) to ensure solutions meet business requirements
-
Chair the Business Systems Management Committee and help set goals, timelines, and direction for system development and support
-
Oversee adherence to development methodologies, documentation standards, and change-management processes
-
Set standards for application and database development
-
Work with staff to track and document system development and support for business continuity
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology
-
Five years' experience working in a team environment developing and supporting database driven software applications; experience in Banner a plus
-
Demonstrated competency in one or more programming languages; experience developing in Visual Studio in Visual C a plus
-
Experience developing queries and views in SQL
-
Experience in data reporting; experience using SSRS is a plus

Experience using database systems such as MS SQL Server

Experience working in a team environment; experience working in higher education is a plus

Supervisory experience
-
Ability to communicate technical procedures and concepts, both in writing and verbally to individuals without a technical background

Demonstrated experience and understanding of quality customer service
