ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director of Patient Services & Channel Operations, the Director of Channel Accounts will serve as the subject matter expert for our specialty pharmacy and specialty distribution programs. This role will primarily be responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to help develop and manage the Channel strategy that will provide access and therapy management services for both saroglitazar and the subsequent Zydus Therapeutics pipeline. This role will contribute to the development of channel distribution models, value propositions and oversee specialty pharmacy and distribution partner contracting through alignment of critical success factors, key performance indicators, and supporting strategies. The outcome is an integrated channel strategy that ensures efficient product distribution, robust and accurate data capture, and uncompromised product integrity.

The role will serve as a key collaborator across multiple cross functional teams, including Value Access, Medical, Marketing, Sales, and Legal, as well as other relevant partners within the Zydus Lifesciences organization. This position will play a critical role in enabling the Company’s successful evolution to a commercial stage specialty biopharmaceutical enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily monitoring of performance of each specialty pharmacy and specialty distributor for each program.
  • Negotiate and implement specialty pharmacy and distribution contracts
  • Create and maintain account plans for each specialty pharmacy
  • Monitor and manage the potential channel expansion into unmet or opportunistic business areas, such as IDNs, Academic Centers, and Large Group clinics which may access product(s)
  • Partner with Patient Services by assisting in troubleshooting any specialty pharmacy issues or concerns which would cause patient delays or gaps
  • Leverage the patient journey and available data to optimize patient engagement and adherence in partnership with the specialty pharmacies
  • Define best in class channel distribution models for new product launches, ensuring readiness at launch and scalability post-launch.
  • Identify and implement new approaches and technologies to facilitate achievement of group and company objectives
  • Provide strategic and tactical input to continuous improvement processes and development in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and Zydus’ policies and procedures
  • Act as a strategic thinker and lead without authority at times, while collaborating across functional areas in order to drive business forward
  • Work directly with field teams (Sales and Market Access) to help educate HCPs and provide potential issue resolution
  • Monitor and report contract KPIs to ensure product access, data access/aggregation, and fast start of therapy for patients
  • Troubleshoot payer-specific reimbursement challenges in partnership with other Market Access teams
  • Pull through plans that allow field sales to participate in cross-functional team/projects that enhance business and provide developmental opportunities
  • Stay abreast of the changing conditions in market and product portfolio to ensure that all activities reflect actual business/organizational needs while meeting the needs of the target audience and maintaining highest quality of service
  • Ensure that the channel activities are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidance’s with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; an advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years of managing Specialty Pharmacy accounts, distribution, and account management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with specialty pharmacy operations and relationships
  • Prior specialty oral therapy launch experience
  • Outstanding customer relationships, interpersonal, and communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross-functionally
  • Deep understanding of reimbursement dynamics, including pharmacy benefit, Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and commercia insurance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of patient access strategies, with a proven track record of successful patient support services for rare disease or specialty drugs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Independently manage priorities and execute responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptable and capable of taking on increased responsibilities in a growing organization
  • Exhibit high capability at working collaboratively, with the ability to prioritize effectively, addressing short-term needs while maintaining a focus on long-term strategies.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

The position will require some domestic travel (up to 40%).
