Reporting to the President of Games, the Director, Chief of Staff will drive operational excellence and manage key strategic initiatives in partnership with the Games leadership team and cross-functional partners. This role plays a critical role in how Games organization plans, executes, and communicates - building appropriate systems, operating models that improve decision making, prioritization, coordination, and execution. This newly created position will be based in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Excellence & Strategic Planning
Create a comprehensive execution plan for organization wide or specific projects, and guide the organization through change management.
Design, implement, and run the Games organization's operating rhythm and planning cycles to ensure accountability, momentum, and organizational and operational excellence. Specifically, these include:
Managing annual and quarterly planning cycles (e.g., OKR, metrics review, planning cycles)
Diving agenda and facilitating all leadership meetings (both staff meetings and cross-functional partner meetings), leadership offsites
Supporting company wide and Games specific business operations (e.g., Netflix Annual Business Review, Games Annual Business Review).
Proactively identify challenges and implement scalable systems and tools to improve information flow, decision-making, and execution plans for all stakeholders.
2. Organizational & Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as a connective tissue within Games org and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless information flow and coordination across all stakeholders.
Act as a sounding board to Games leaders and connect the dots across broader Netflix on behalf of the Games team.
Anticipate challenges and provide triage appropriately in escalation, mitigation risks, and finding solutions to manage through successful resolution.
3. Communication and Alignment
Partner with Communications team and HR to lead internal communications (e.g., All Hands, AMAs), translating business and organizational strategy into a cohesive, actionable narrative for the broader organization.
In partnership with Marketing and Communications teams,
Support leader’s engagement with external stakeholders, including industry events (i.e, GDC, DICE, etc), press, and speaking engagements, while staying current with trends in the gaming industry.
Create and refine executive-facing materials such as pitches, background documents, board memos, sizzles, and strategic decks for internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate cross-functional understanding and buy-in through structured socialization forums that clarify priorities, pivots, key initiatives, and performance outcomes.
Serve as a central resource for teams to ensure consistent, clear, and effective representation of Netflix Games across the company.
Qualifications
Extensive experience driving strategic initiatives and operational excellence in a rapidly growing and fast-paced organization.
Adept at both effecting change to established ways of working and implementing new initiatives from the ground up
Ability to synthesize complex information into clear plans and narratives for different audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with the Games leadership team and cross-functional partners.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems and navigate ambiguity to build structure where it doesn't yet exist.
Strong project management, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to operate with integrity and build trust in ambiguity and periods of change.
Deep understanding of the games industry
