Director, Communications

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director, Internal & External Communications to lead Cadent’s corporate communications strategy across employees, clients, partners, media, and industry stakeholders. This role will drive message clarity, brand reputation, and executive visibility while ensuring consistent storytelling across internal and external channels.

This leader will partner closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Sales, Product Marketing, People Team, and Legal to deliver high-impact communications that strengthen culture, accelerate go-to-market initiatives, and elevate Cadent’s voice in the market. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with deep experience in corporate communications within AdTech, MarTech, or enterprise technology environments.
Responsibilities:
Communications Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute Cadent’s internal and external communications strategy aligned to company growth, brand, and revenue priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on messaging, positioning, and communications risk management.
  • Build scalable communications frameworks, editorial calendars, and messaging architectures across audiences.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
  • Own company-wide internal communications strategy including executive messaging, organizational updates, and culture initiatives.
  • Partner with People, HR, and Leadership teams on change management communications (org changes, acquisitions, strategy shifts, etc.).
  • Develop content for town halls, leadership forums, internal newsletters, and employee engagement campaigns.
  • Ensure consistent messaging that reinforces Cadent values, strategy, and business priorities.

External Communications, PR & Thought Leadership
  • Lead external corporate communications including PR strategy, media relations, and reputation management.
  • Develop executive thought leadership strategies including speaking opportunities, bylines, and industry positioning.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Marketing to ensure consistent market messaging across campaigns, launches, and events.
  • Manage agency partners and PR vendors where applicable.

Brand Narrative & Content Strategy
  • Ensure alignment of corporate narrative and messaging frameworks across corporate, employer brand, and investor-adjacent storytelling.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice across internal, external, and digital channels.
  • Partner with Marketing to align corporate storytelling with demand generation and brand campaigns.

Measurement & Communications Analytics
  • Define KPIs for communications effectiveness across internal and external projects (engagement, reach, share of voice, sentiment, etc.).
  • Use data and stakeholder feedback to continuously refine messaging and channel strategy.
  • Deliver executive reporting on communications impact and reputation health.
Qualifications:
  • 8–12+ years of experience in Corporate Communications, PR, or Strategic Communications, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience in AdTech, MarTech, SaaS, or complex B2B technology environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven success building internal communications strategies that support culture and organizational change.
  • Strong external communications background including PR, media relations, and executive positioning.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive presence skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership ability.
  • Experience working with executive teams in high-growth or transformation environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field.

The salary range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications as well as other business and organizational needs.

Pay Range: USD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.
