POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Content will lead the strategy, development, and execution of all content for U.S.
Figure Skating, driving fan engagement, athlete storytelling, and audience growth across digital,
social, broadcast, and live event platforms. This role is responsible for building an always-on
content ecosystem that elevates the sport, supports commercial partnerships, and enhances the
fan experience. The Director will oversee content for major events, manage social and production
teams, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact storytelling and scalable content
initiatives. This role requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution in fast-paced
environments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, multi-platform content strategy
encompassing athlete storytelling, short-form social video, long-form series, event previews
and recaps, behind-the-scenes access, lifestyle content, broadcast integrations, and sponsor-
branded campaigns.
  • Own content strategy for major events, ensuring seamless alignment across broadcast, digital,
and in-venue experiences, including real-time coverage and storytelling.
  • Oversee the development and alignment of an integrated content calendar, ensuring
coordination across social, events, sponsorship deliverables, and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee content distribution across all owned and operated platforms (Instagram, TikTok,
YouTube, Facebook, X) while identifying opportunities to expand reach through emerging
channels.
  • Lead and manage the social media team, driving audience growth and engagement, including
achieving a 20% increase in followers across platforms.

Directo r, Content

  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, communications, events, and
membership teams to support organizational initiatives and deliver on sponsor commitments.
  • Oversee content production for competitions, including planning, coordination with
international rights holders, and on-site execution and delivery of broadcast and digital feeds.
  • Manage content platforms, tools, and workflows that support sport presentation, broadcast
integration, and the overall fan experience across live and digital environments.
  • Ability to step in as a hands-on content creator when needed, including shooting, producing,
and editing content in fast-paced environments
  • Track and analyze content performance metrics, using insights to optimize strategy.
  • Report to the Chief Commercial Officer and manage the social media team, video production

specialist, freelance videographers and external production resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above to
the highest level. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or
ability needed to be a successful candidate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Video Production, Marketing, Media, or related field and a minimum of 5 years

of progressive experience in in content management, media relations, or a similar role, preferably
in sports or entertainment; or 8 years relevant experience without a degree .

  • A strong understanding of social media platforms and content marketing strategies.
  • Experience in video production, including planning, filming, editing, and publishing.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously and
deliver on deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

LOCATION Colorado Springs, Colorado (Hybrid)
U.S. Figure Skating has a flexible work environment. Team members are required to work in the
office three days per week; additional temporary remote opportunities exist throughout the year
based on the organization’s business operations.

COMPENSATION $80,000-$100,000

CLASSIFICATION Full-Time, Exempt
