Job Summary:

The Director of Government Affairs and Relations is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing the organization’s public policy agenda within the healthcare sector. This individual leads the development and execution of government affairs strategies to support the organization's objectives at the local, state, and federal levels. Acting as the primary liaison to legislators, regulatory agencies, and healthcare associations, the Director monitors emerging healthcare legislation, advocates for favorable policy outcomes, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • To strategize for the further development of community health centers
  • Monitors and researches government activities that could affect the organization's business and clients
  • Perform research and analyze various regulations within the organization's facilities
  • Assists senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry
  • Advocates legislative and public policy changes that will support company operations
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships with members of federal, state, and local government entities and agencies
  • Collaborates with industry advocates to build areas of common interest
  • Assists with grants and find resources, for CHC to succeed
  • Performs other duties as required.

Work Environment

The Director of Government Affairs and Relations operates in a professional office environment at Jordan Valley Community Health Center. This role requires frequent collaboration with internal teams, clinical leaders, and external partners. While the environment is typically structured and collaborative, the position involves managing high-pressure situations to meet deadlines and resolve urgent revenue cycle issues. Occasional travel to JVCHC’s other locations may be required. Available by cell phone 24/7.
