General Summary and Purpose:

The Director Human Resources is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s human resources operations and programs in support of business objectives. This role partners with leadership to promote a positive workplace culture, enhance employee engagement, support talent acquisition and retention, administer compensation and benefits programs, and ensure effective performance management, training, and employee development practices across the organization. This onsite position oversees an HR Department of 6.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the HR team, overseeing all aspects of human resources management
  • Partner with organizational leadership to advance HR initiatives, implement policies and programs, and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Drive the development and execution of HR strategies and programs that align with organizational goals and business objectives.
  • Manage core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and update HR policies and employee handbooks to support organizational consistency and compliance
  • Develop and implement talent acquisition and retention strategies to attract, hire, and retain qualified employees.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure communication, coordination, and implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs to ensure benefit offerings are competitive and cost-effective offerings that supply employee needs and meet organizational objectives
  • Analyze HR and workforce data to support decision-making and monitor key metrics related to employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Provide support and guidance on initiatives related to employee development, training, organizational change, workforce planning, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
  • Oversee compensation administration practices, including salary benchmarking and market analysis, to maintain competitive and equitable pay practices
  • Oversee HR processes, systems, and workflows to improve operational efficiency and enhance employee experience.
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of HR information systems and reporting capabilities.
  • Lead HR-related due diligence activities and employee transition planning related to mergers, acquisitions, or organizational changes.
  • Lead integration activities for newly acquired or transitioned employees to ensure a smooth onboarding and alignment experience.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop HR team members to support performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws and regulations across the United States and Canada
  • Partner with legal counsel and leadership on employment-related risk management, investigations and compliance matters

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws, with a track record of successfully developing and implementing HR strategies and programs
  • Able to build and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization, acting as a coach and mentor to team members
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a high-performing HR team
  • A hands-on leader, serving as a subject matter expert who is comfortable updating leadership on key advancements with relevance to our work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills a must
  • Ability to multi-task

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years’ experience managing and leading an HR team.
  • Experience supporting multi-state and multi-location operations
  • Ability and willingness to travel as business needs require
  • Experience with UKG HRIS strongly preferred
  • Ability to be on-site at our Bothell HQ

The US base salary range for this position at full-time is $181,396 - $272,095 per year. Typically, new hires are brought in at or near the midpoint of the range to allow for future growth and advancement within the role. This range represents the full compensation range for this position, with consideration given to experience, skills, and qualifications. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, location, and market competitive benchmarks. Individual pay within a level is determined by work location (including geographic pay zone region), job related skills, experience, education, and training.
