Job Summary
The Director of Enterprise Systems reports to the VP of Enterprise Systems and oversees teams responsible for the strategic execution and implementation and lifecycle of the company’s application systems. Primary responsibilities include engagement with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address business needs and improve processes through technology solutions. Ensures the application systems are scalable and align with business objectives while fostering cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees and manages the application support teams responsible for the Company’s enterprise-wide application systems. Motivates, leads, and develops a team of diverse individuals with a variety of experience levels and skill sets. Develops IT management and staff to identify, communicate, and implement business process improvements with on-going exemplary customer support and service.
Optimizes the use of the Company’s highly complex enterprise systems, including identifying, developing, and implementing new business processes. Builds a solid understanding of business processes and works with business partners to recommend practical solutions. Works with the VP to ensure the team delivery of reliable and effective solutions.
Frequently plans, coordinates, and manages projects and resources for application systems with enterprise-wide impact. Coordinates with vendors, internal communications, and other internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate change management.
Reviews software and technology options to simplify processes and enhance efficiencies to meet business needs.
Monitors progress toward departmental goals and takes action to ensure teams meet stated objectives.
Provides technical guidance to staff with issues regarding troubleshooting and resolution. Serves as the technical liaison between enterprise system vendors and other internal IT teams to ensure technical requirements are accurately documented and communicated in a timely manner.
Maintains professional knowledge of information technology standards, best practices, laws and regulations, and emerging trends.
Travels as needed for meetings, events, and/or professional development.
Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or related technical field required
10+ years of IT experience with relational database structures, SQL, and system integrations and managing enterprise-level application systems and upgrades required.
Cross-functional project management experience with large scale IT initiatives, including timelines and deliverables
Supervisory/management experience at the manager-level or above required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business or technical field preferred
Experience leading a technically complex organization and managing outside resources
Experience with real estate industry applications and systems
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise application development, including UX/UI principles, modern architectures, platforms, and the full system development life cycle (SDLC)
Strong command of IT governance, risk management, compliance, and control frameworks, and their application at scale
Deep understanding of business operations and operating models, with the ability to align IT strategy to business outcomes
Advanced knowledge of IT service management disciplines, service levels, and customer experience impacts
Solid working knowledge of relational databases, data integration, and analytics concepts, sufficient to guide architectural decisions and oversight
Proven ability to lead leaders, developing, coaching, and holding people managers accountable for performance, talent development, and delivery outcomes
Ability to set technology strategy and priorities, balancing innovation, risk, cost, and operational stability
Strong organizational leadership and change management skills, driving adoption of new technologies, processes, and ways of working
Experience establishing and overseeing project, portfolio, and resource management practices across multiple teams
Skilled in decision-making under complexity, evaluating tradeoffs, risks, and long‑term impacts across the enterprise
Experience fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus
Ability to oversee multiple concurrent initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment to strategy, timelines, and budgets
Expertise in guiding teams on business process analysis, workflow design, and documentation to ensure clarity and cross‑functional alignment
Oversight-level understanding of testing and quality assurance practices, ensuring appropriate rigor for system changes and new implementations
Ability to leverage data, reporting, and analytics (including SQL-informed outputs) to measure performance, identify trends, and support decision-making
Experience evaluating and recommending new technologies or vendor solutions to improve service, efficiency, or competitive advantage
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts clearly to executives, business leaders, and non‑technical audiences
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including negotiation, expectation-setting, and conflict resolution
Ability to represent IT leadership in enterprise forums, steering committees, and cross‑functional initiatives
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment in sensitive and high‑impact situations
Willingness to travel as needed for leadership meetings, planning sessions, or company events
Availability for after-hours leadership support during major implementations, incidents, or critical business events
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for executive-level communication, analysis, and presentations
