Continuing along it highly successful growth trajectory, SFFedCU is seeking a Senior Manager/Director of Learning, Engagement & Culture for our Golden Gate Branch in San Francisco.

Role Overview

The Senior Manager/Director of Learning, Engagement & Culture is a strategic leader responsible for designing and driving initiatives that shape organizational culture, enhance employee engagement, and foster continuous learning and leadership development. This role goes beyond traditional training, serving as a catalyst for organizational growth and transformation. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Manager, Director partners across function to embed a growth mindset, promote inclusive leadership, and ensure a consistent, high-impact employee experience from onboarding through career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute an integrated learning and development strategy aligned with business goals and cultural priorities.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of leadership development programs for all levels, including emerging leaders and senior executives.
  • Lead and evolve the onboarding experience to accelerate new hire engagement and performance.
  • Develop engagement initiatives that foster connection, purpose, and pride in the organization.
  • Manage the planning, delivery, and tracking of mandatory compliance training across the organization to ensure regulatory and policy adherence.
  • Oversee development and delivery of business systems training specific to retail banking platforms (e.g., core banking systems, teller systems, loan origination, etc.)
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to assess learning needs and organizational development priorities.
  • Measure and report on learning effectiveness and engagement outcomes; continuously optimize programs based on data and feedback.
  • Champion a culture of growth, curiosity, inclusion, and accountability through learning experiences and cultural initiatives.
  • Facilitate learning assessments, pulse surveys, and feedback loops to identify opportunities for improvement.

Who Are You?

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ to 10+ years of relevant progressive experience in leading learning and development, organizational development, and related talent initiatives. Preferably in financial services.
  • Expertise in learning strategy, instructional design and leadership program design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Track record in culture transformation and employee engagement and change management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and able to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Discretion and integrity in handling confidential information.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects and programs simultaneously.
