Director - Legal AI

AI infrastructure is moving fast. The legal frameworks that govern it need to move faster. If you have built SLA structures for GPUaaS environments, negotiated at the edge of trade compliance, and earned the confidence of commercial leadership - this is the role that was written for you.

DAMAC Digital is one of the most ambitious AI infrastructure plays in the region. We are not at proof of concept stage. We are at scale. And we need a Director level legal leader who can protect that position without slowing it down.

What You Will Own
  • SLA negotiation across GPUaaS and Necloud contracts - uptime, downtime reporting, service credits, remediation.
  • End-to-end legal ownership of chip procurement, data centre services, and enterprise platform agreements.
  • Export control and trade compliance across cross-border AI hardware and infrastructure transactions.
  • A contract management framework built to handle high-volume, high-complexity commercial activity at pace.
  • Legal counsel that enables commercial decisions - not one that delays them.
The Environment

DAMAC Digital operates within the DAMAC Group - a multi billion dollar enterprise with assets across real estate, hospitality, and technology. The AI infrastructure business is a growth mandate from the top, moving at a pace that demands legal leadership with both technical depth and commercial intelligence.

You will work directly with senior commercial and technology stakeholders, across multi jurisdictional transactions, in an environment where the deals are complex, the timelines are real, and the legal function is expected to lead - not follow.

What Good Looks Like

You understand what an SLA should actually contain for a GPU infrastructure environment - not because you have read about it, but because you have negotiated it. You know the difference between a commercially sound uptime clause and one that will cause problems at scale. You can assess a counterparty's GPU footprint and use that knowledge at the table.

You are trusted by commercial leadership because you give answers, not caveats. You move fast when the deal requires it, and you know when to hold firm.

Ideal Background
  • 15+ years post qualification, with a technology, AI infrastructure, cloud, or hardware procurement specialism.
  • Demonstrable experience negotiating SLA driven contracts for GPU, cloud, or data centre environments.
  • Export controls and cross border trade compliance - particularly US origin technology.
  • In house experience in a high growth or transformation stage technology business.
  • Track record of building legal frameworks and playbooks that scale without requiring external counsel on routine matters.
