Director - MarTech & AdTech Platforms

Costco IT is responsible for the technical future of Costco Wholesale, the third largest retailer in the world with wholesale operations in fourteen countries. Despite our size and explosive international expansion, we continue to provide a family, employee centric atmosphere in which our employees thrive and succeed.

This is an environment unlike anything in the high-tech world and the secret of Costco’s success is its culture. The value Costco puts on its employees is well documented in articles from a variety of publishers including Bloomberg and Forbes. Our employees and our members come FIRST. Costco is well known for its generosity and community service and has won many awards for its philanthropy. The company joins with its employees to take an active role in volunteering by sponsoring many opportunities to help others.

Come join the Costco Wholesale IT family. Costco IT is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working through exciting transformation efforts. We are building the next generation retail environment where you will be surrounded by dedicated and highly professional employees.

At Costco Wholesale, we’re not just looking for a manager; we’re looking for a leader to help us bridge the gap between our world-class warehouse experience and our digital future. As the Director of MarTech & AdTech Platforms, you’ll be the strategic lead for the technology that powers our member engagement. From overseeing our Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) suite to scaling our Retail Media Network (RMN), your work will directly influence how we use data to drive growth and deliver a more personalized experience for millions of members worldwide.

This role is a unique blend of high-level strategy and deep engineering execution. You will lead a global, multi-disciplinary team—including software engineers, platform engineers, and product owners—to build and maintain the platforms that handle everything from audience management to omni-channel measurement. We compete for talent with the biggest names in tech because the scale of our data and the complexity of our "omni-channel" challenge are just as significant. You’ll be responsible for a prioritized roadmap that doesn’t just keep the lights on, but actively unlocks new value for the business.

Reporting to the AVP of Data & Marketing Platforms, you’ll act as a vital link between technical teams and executive leadership. We value a "player-coach" mentality—someone who can dive into technical architecture one hour and discuss long-term business strategy the next. Success here means navigating a fast-moving, collaborative environment where your ability to foster a culture of trust and open communication is just as important as your technical acumen.

Ultimately, your goal is to ensure our technology is as reliable and member-focused as the warehouses themselves. As a steward of the Costco culture, you will develop a strategic vision that aligns with our core mission: providing high-quality products and services at the best possible value. If you’re ready to lead an essential part of a global IT transformation while staying grounded in a culture that puts people first, we’d love to talk.

As the primary conduit between your employees and upper leadership, your role in communicating and modeling the values and guiding principles of our company culture is of vital importance. All members of IT Management should strive to consciously and consistently foster a culture of engagement, trust, and “open door” communication.

If you want to be a part of one of the worldwide BEST companies “to work for”, simply apply and let your career be reimagined.
