The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Director, National Accounts, to join our growing Market Access team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The Director, National Accounts, will be a key contributor to a strong National Accounts team. They will be a leader in cross-functional teams to ensure that payer coverage and formulary initiatives are properly understood and aligned with strategies. The Director, National Accounts, will work closely with the Patient Services team to ensure optimal access for Agios products. This position plays a role as a key business partner interacting with field sales leadership, marketing, finance, and legal and compliance stakeholders.
What you will do:

Lead the Agios relationship with assigned FFS Medicaid payers and FFS Medicaid PBAs
- Implement strategic initiatives aimed toward achieving optimal coverage and reimbursement of Agios products

Build payer profiles and business plans to assess formulary review and coverage policies, utilization controls and level of influence

Prepare and present business cases for contracting with a focus on ROI and lead the negotiation process with customers

Communicate internally payer use of utilization management criteria and guidelines specific to Agios products

Develop and maintain an elevated level of rapport and integrity within applicable payers, resulting in mutually beneficial long-term business opportunities

Monitor marketplace developments and evaluate and report on both opportunities and threats related to the product portfolio

Represent Agios in a professional manner at key industry conferences
What you bring:

BA/BS required
-
Minimum of 10 years sales experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals [with at least 5 years in hematology / rare disease / genetically defined diseases]

5 years of managed market experience with a variety of health care providers/organizations and with expertise in FFS Medicaid payers and/or the Medicaid channel.

Firm understanding of the regulations governing commercial and government payers

Working knowledge of the specialty pharmaceutical landscape

Experience with products managed through the pharmacy benefit
Work Location:
Location Specific – Field/Remote: This is a remote based field position. Regular conversations with manager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-person presence/expectations. Travel is required commensurate to the above job description and/or to attend team meetings and other company events.

The current base salary range for this position is expected to be between 216,424 and $324,635 annualized; final salary will be determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills and proficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
