Job Title: Director of Accounting Services
Reports directly to the Controller, with collaborative oversight from the Vice President of Operations.
The Director of Accounting Services serves as the primary financial liaison for Manor Lake Management communities, working closely with third-party accounting partners, Controllers, and onsite Business Office Directors. This remote leadership role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll coordination, and business office compliance.
The role supports monthly investor reporting and financial calls while partnering with community leaders to ensure fiscal health and operational stability. Semi-annual bonus opportunity of up to 20% of annual salary, based on the Director of Accounting bonus structure.
Lead monthly close processes, including journal entries, revenue recognition, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Ensure accuracy of rent rolls, occupancy reports, billing, invoicing, and timely collections.
Serve as liaison for Accounts Receivable, vendor management, and portfolio collections efforts.
Manage company bill-backs, expense reports, invoices, and payroll processing by monthly deadlines.
Support pre–lease-up communities with expense forecasting and funding requests.
Conduct monthly financial review calls with community leadership and participate in investor/owner meetings as needed.
Monitor cash balances, AR aging, and payroll accuracy; escalate nonpayment issues over 30 days.
Ensure GAAP compliance and support portfolio financial reporting and analytics.
Assist with annual budgeting, audits, and Business Office Manager (BOM) audits.
Maintain the Manor Lake Management Google Calendar for site visits and required documentation.
Provide interim support for vacant or underperforming Business Office roles to maintain operational continuity.
Coordinate system access, training, and integration across accounting platforms, including SAGE, ALIS, and AVID.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, clinical, and risk management teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
Conduct scheduled site visits while maintaining one remote workday per week.
Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience and 2 years of Business Office Manager oversight or management.
Senior living, healthcare, or multi-site experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of payroll, AP/AR, and healthcare billing.
Strong Excel, financial systems, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, lead meetings, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
