Job Description: Director of Accounting and Administration

Position Overview:

The Director of Accounting and Administration will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting, administration, and operational finance functions. Given the size of the organization, the Director of Accounting will also act as Controller, managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic financial planning with detailed execution.

Key Responsibilities:

**Strategic Leadership**

  • Partner with the PRESIDENT and leadership team to develop and execute financial strategies that support growth and profitability.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to guide decision-making, resource allocation, and capital investment.

**Financial Management**

  • Oversee all accounting, financial reporting, and internal control processes.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Manage annual budgeting and forecasting processes; monitor performance against targets.
  • Develop cash flow projections and manage working capital to ensure financial health.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other external partners.

**Operational & Controller Functions**

Supervise general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end close processes.

Manage tax filings, compliance reporting, and audit coordination.

Implement and improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of company assets, liabilities, and capital structure.

**Team & Leadership**

  • Build and lead a small but efficient finance team, including training and development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across departments to support operational efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive financial management experience, including Controller-level responsibilities.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on accounting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee financial strategy while executing daily accounting operations.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
